History

The Heureux Hasard house was built in 1898 by a farmer named Joyeux Thériault. Joyeux was part of one of the founding families of the village of Bertrand. He and his wife Adeline raised their 13 children in this house.

Your friendly host Manon is known for her love of life. She always wanted to acquire a Bed & Breakfast and make it a little paradise for families and travelers.

The maternal roots of Manon are in New Brunswick, specifically in Paquetteville, where her mother was born. Following her mother's sudden death in March 2008, Manon made a pilgrimage to New Brunswick to pay her last respect to her. Manon, who was a coordinator in human resources, was questioning her future. The situation was difficult for her.

On this trip, by chance , she landed at King Bed & Breakfast, located in the small village of Bertrand, 3 km from Caraquet. The house is then for sale by the owners. Then, on the spur of the moment, she acquired this beautiful property. she left her town of St-Eustache, Quebec, and finally take the chance to live her dream. What a "Serendipity" (wich could be translated in French by "Heureux Hasard')! Manon decided to name the Bed & Breakfast after that experience.

Manon, a graduated cook and also a great cookbook collector, will enchant you with her comforting home cooking. She will quickly make you feel at home in this beautiful old house where each room was furnished and decorated to make it warm and cozy and leave you with great memories when you visit. You will be seduced by her desire to make everybody happy around her.

Come and enjoy an unforgettable stay with an inspiring hostess!

Sincerely,

Manon
